How to dry oil based paint on a canvas?

oil paint can take months to fully cure, depending on the quality and thickness of paint on the canvas. Whatever you do, don't rush it with light or heat, will ruin it. How to dry oil based paint on a canvas?
The best way to dry oil paint is to let it dry naturally. Keep it in a place away from high humidity (not a bathroom) or oil/smoke (not a kitchen), and in good ventilation (not a closet). It will probably be dry to the touch within two weeks. However, some oil paints, especially white, can take up to six months to totally dry.





The paint will dry faster if you place a fan blowing on it or place it in a sunny window. If you are in a hurry, you can force dry oil paint by spraying the fixative used for pastels (artists' chalk) on it. Place upright in a well ventilated warm area. Oil paint does not dry, it cures and once it is on the canvas time is the only thing which will cure the paint. Some colors cure sooner than others and the thickness of the layers will affect how long it takes.
I used to use Liquin which helps the paint dry faster. Usually overnight. I can't use Liquin or oil paint anymore, the fumes get to me.
Liquin, japan drier....and galkyd are all driers. Neo Meglip, linseed and stand all open the drying time, while the others constrict it.
