This is probably a really stupid question (lol) but I'm new to using oil paints and I got a set for Christmas two years ago. I recently decided I wanted to start trying to take classes and paint, but when I tried to open the top there was like a metal thing preventing the paint from coming through. How do I get this off without ruinging the top? thanks :DHow to open oil paint tops?
Actually, you have to ruin it. It's just a foil seal that's added to some paints to keep them from drying out if they are stored for a long time before being sold or used by the consumer. All you do is take off the cap and poke a hole in the foil. It's more common with small containers than large, as they are more prone to dry out. You may see something similar in small tubes of glue such as super glue. How to open oil paint tops?
