I would like to paint over some old oil canvases with acrylic paints. How do I do this? Thanks!?

Like she said, you cant paint water-base paint over oil-base surface. However, you can always re-strech your canvas.


Since you are working with acrylic, you dont even have to gesso the canvas unless you like to star off with the white.I would like to paint over some old oil canvases with acrylic paints. How do I do this? Thanks!?
You don't. If you do, the acrylic image may slide off the oil backing.
