was having my house painted and he stepped in itAny ideas how to remove oil-based paint from my dog's paws ?
Please, please, please, don't use turpentine to remove the paint..
Never use gasoline, kerosene, turpentine, or organic solvents on your pet. These products can severely burn your pet's skin and cause toxicities.
Paint is best removed by letting it harden and then clipping off the affected areas. Avon's Skin So Soft may soften some oil-based paints, which can then be removed.
EDIT TO ADD:
I found an answer to a simlar qustion when someone else's dog stepped in paint. I hope it helps.
Good luck..Any ideas how to remove oil-based paint from my dog's paws ?
maybe finger nail polish remover
';TURPATINE'; A Turpentine Substitute (An economical alternative to turpentine, thins and cleans off oil-based paint).
It's made by Klean-Strip (blue and yellow spouted can).
I use it to wash my paint brushes after oil painting.
Then wash the paw with lots %26amp; lots %26amp; lots of water and a gental soap.
I'm telling you, powder laundry detergent. Just make sure you get all the soap off. DO NOT let him get it in his face at all. Use two people. I would try to watch him from licking the paint on his foot until you get it taken care of regardless, it might be worth investing in a e-collar. good luck!!
goo gone from hardware store , then wash thoroughly with soap and water.
