Can anyone give me tips on how to paint realistic red fox fur on an oil painting?

It's possible to buy a brush for this, mine is a Royal Soft Grip SG730.

Start with a darker base color, then add layers from the back of the subject going lighter and brighter. The final layer is the soft furry one, you could try using two colors on the brush, and will probably have to thin these paints to get them to stick. Go with the flow of the fur, don't overwork the strokes, and try to leave shadow areas underneath. I suggest practice on a spare board until you are happy. Look at it from a distance always. Good luck! Hope this helps. Can anyone give me tips on how to paint realistic red fox fur on an oil painting?
Make sure you paint a different texture for the fur than in the rest of the painting, you don't want it smooth, so try and use your brush to create little marks and strokes that suggest fur, a small brush is probably best for this kind of thing. Its about the brush strokes. You want to capture a fury texture. Get a small brush and make tiny strokes. Think about the directions the fur is flowing.
